چکیده

Objectives4CMenB is a broadly protective vaccine against invasive meningococcal capsular group B disease (MenB IMD). Licensed worldwide based on immunogenicity and safety data, effectiveness impact data are now available. We comprehensively reviewed all available real-world evidence gathered from use of 4CMenB since licensure.ResultsData 7 countries provide across different healthcare settings age-groups, including national/regional immunization programs, observational studies outbreak control. At least 2 doses reduced MenB IMD by 50%-100% in 2-month to 20-year-olds depending length follow-up. Estimates fully vaccinated cohorts ranged 59%-100%. The profile administered was consistent with pre-licensure clinical trial data.ConclusionMenB an uncommon but life-threatening unpredictable epidemiology. substantial body demonstrating supports its prevention. results reinforce the importance direct protection highest risk groups; infants/young children adolescents. Direct via routine infant catch-up young adolescent vaccination could be preferred option for control.A Video Abstract linked this article Figshare: https://doi.org/10.6084/m9.figshare.14546790.

Meningococcal B Vaccination (4CMenB) in Infants and Toddlers

Neisseria meningitidis is a Gram-negative pathogen that actively invades its human host and leads to the development of life-threatening pathologies. One of the leading causes of death in the world, N. meningitidis can be responsible for nearly 1,000 new infections per 100,000 subjects during an epidemic period. The bacterial species are classified into 12 serogroups, five of which (A, B, C, W,...

Recent Progress in the Prevention of Serogroup B Meningococcal Disease

The widespread use of meningococcal polysaccharide conjugate vaccines has highlighted the challenge of providing protection against serogroup B disease. Over a period of 4 decades, vaccine development has focused on subcapsular protein antigens, first with outer membrane vesicle (OMV) vaccines against epidemic outbreaks, and more recently on new multicomponent vaccines designed to offer better ...

Multicomponent meningococcal B vaccination (4CMenB) of adolescents and college students in the United States

Meningococcal disease is rare, easily misdiagnosed, and potentially deadly. Diagnosis in the early stages is difficult and the disease often progresses extremely rapidly. In North America, the incidence of invasive meningococcal disease (IMD) is highest in infants and young children, with a secondary peak in adolescents, a population predominantly responsible for the carriage of disease. Neisse...

Vaccination with a multicomponent meningococcal B vaccine in prevention of disease in adolescents and young adults.

Vaccination programs employing capsular-based meningococcal vaccines have proved successful in a variety of settings globally since first introduced over 40 years ago. Similar successes have been demonstrated using meningococcal vaccines for use against serogroup B (MenB) outbreak strains but the diversity of MenB strains has limited vaccine use outside targeted geographic regions. MenB continu...

I 84 Recent Advances in B . C . G . Vaccination

Safety For the first time two cases of progressive tuberculosis resulting from B.C.G. vaccination have been reported. The first was a seven-yearold Danish boy who was given B.C.G. intracutaneously in a batch of 30 children; the vaccinations ran a normal course in the other 29. This boy began to ail within two weeks of vaccination and became progressively worse; he eventually died after two year...
